Finding where to connect to run diagnostics on construction and farming equipment is frustrating. It can seem like no two machines have the hook up in the same place. So we have broken down some of the most common equipment that we work on with our Diesel Laptops Diagnostic Kits.

WHERE TO CONNECT

JLG Aerial Lifts with Duetz Engines

The connection for these machines is found in one of 3 places: behind the panel, next to the ECM or behind the engine.

Behind the side panel:

Most commonly it’s on the back of the engine:

Or behind the control panel:

JCB Excavator

This is another machine where the connection port changes from model to model. Most frequently it will be found under the seat, engine compartment or behind the seat.

The diagnostic port for this model is under the seat:

JLG Telehandler

Telehandlers with Cummins engines house the cable connection on the engine or on the dash. Here you can see the engine port:

Hamm Roller

These rollers are equipped with Duetz engines – the connection is found in the step compartment:

This telehandler’s diagnostic connection is in the fuse box:
